This, in essence, is taking advantage of the minors to achieve business objectives. Several moral principles are relevant to the case study analyzed in this paper. According to Weiss (24), moral principles can play a great role in enabling a business to make informed choices that balance economic interests and social responsibility. A major moral principle that is related to the case study is the principle of common good and community. This moral principle indicates that individuals grow and achieve fulfillment in a community setup. As a result, their social life is greatly influenced by their relationship with other individuals in the community. Giving of wrong or inadequate information to people in the society violates this moral principle. This is because it is an exploitation of the other people in the society for one’s own benefits. The company in this case study violates this moral principle by giving wrong or inadequate information in its advertisements. Children below a certain age are not allowed to make major decisions about their lives. Parents or guardians are the ones who are supposed to make decisions on their behalf. The other moral principle relevant for this case study is treatment of every individual in the society with honor and dignity he/she deserves. Advertising to little children below the age of twelve is failing to treat them with dignity and honor. This is because children are not able to make good decisions related to their health. Therefore, advertising foods to them is like taking advantage of their state and position. This is contrary to the requirements of the Catholic Social Teaching (CST). Moreover, it is contrary to the expectations of the society. Therefore, this is a moral principle that is frequently violated by organizations like
